Having been an NHS General Practitioner (GP) for 18 years, I have developed a special interest in Women’s Health, Contraception & Sexual Health.
I have worked within a variety of clinical settings, including:
I also hold non-clinical roles as GP Champion for Sexual Health for Cheshire West & Chester Local Authority and am GP Clinical Lead for Maternity for West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
For many years, I have enjoyed talking to women about their health & wellbeing around the menopause and found working together with women at this key time in their lives, most rewarding.
A desire to be up-to-date with the advice I was giving, several years ago, prompted me to undertake the Special Skills Certificate in Menopause Care of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health Care, of which I am a Diplomate. I was delighted to achieve both the Basic and Advanced level certificate in March 2015, the latter qualifying me to take formal referrals in this field.
In addition, I am a member of the British Menopause Society and was delighted to be elected to the Medical Advisory Council of the Society in 2015. I am also a member of the International Menopause Society.
